About
I'm Nate Armstrong, a software engineer based in Berkeley, CA, and a UC Berkeley alumni.
This site is where I put thoughts on math, statistics, and computer science. Most posts start as something I wanted to understand properly rather than approximately — floating point error bounds, a statistics result that looks impossible at first glance, or a habit that makes code easier to read. Writing them out is how I check that I actually understand them.
There is also a tools page with a few small interactive utilities, and you can browse everything I've written by tag or by year.
